Guidelines in the use of the results from The National Field Trials
The results from the field trials are preliminary results until the official publications. All data collected during the season are continuously documented on the internet as preliminary trial results. In the process from preliminary to final results the trials undergoes several quality checks and statistical tests to ensure that the results are reliable and correct. During this process changes may appear in the registered data and therefore, until final approval they must be treated with care in regard to use and interpret the results.
Should the results despite these uncertainties be requested reproduced in newspapers and magazines or used at meetings, promotions etc. before the results are finally published (publication of "Summary of National Field Trials") it must be clearly stated and without doubt that the results are preliminary. In connection with any written material or presentation please include (i.e. the same font size and print quality as any brand names) the following text together with the results: "These results from the National Field Trials ® 20xx are preliminary and may differ from the final results". Alternatively, all figures and tables used in presentations could be high-lighted with "Preliminary results" as a distinct watermark or equivalent.
The data are considered final once they are officially published.
For questions about the publications please contact Jens Elbæk or Jon Birger Pedersen.
